On My Way

30 Oct

I have come to some interesting thoughts about being independent. People strive for it in their lives without being too realistic.

As social creatures, we must always mingle with others, rely upon their abilities and grasp different concepts. It is hard to trust in today’s world so, most people try the “do it yourself” technique and as time goes by, the excitement first felt, dies.

Although starting on changing something in your life begins with you, it most definitely will affect others. You can not do anything and prosper alone. You can do something alone, and if it keeps alone, you will be alone–no prosper in it.

Most of us are held from our ideas due to distracting forces like other’s beliefs, society, or plain old doubt. The reasoning in succumbing to give up starts before we begin. We tend to go through life doing what feels comfortable in our ingrained routine. Well, change develops with change.

The first thing one needs to do is recognize the desire. There are ideas and passions inside that have been there for as long as you can remember. Ones that keep popping up in your mind year after year. After many heartfelt nudgings, you have to ask yourself why you have not acted upon it?

Here’s what I say–there is only one key element and a couple of actions that need taking. First–the desire. Then, you must start disciplining yourself to do things a little different–maybe start off by getting out of bed on the other side or cutting back on your coffee. You know..just start changing the usual routine to get used to getting out of that comfort zone. Next, you will need to focus on your desire and take note by writing down what you can do every day to feed that hunger of desire until it becomes a reality.

You should have someone who will encourage and hold you accountable to the responsibility of following your goal. Most of all, DO NOT give up because you’ll be back to wishing and dreaming instead of fulfilling.

This is Leslie Goodwin signing off and on my way!
